1982 - Present
In 1982, Green Rainger Landscaping was formed to provide residential & commercial lawn maintenance services to subdivisions and businesses in and around Plymouth and Canton, Michigan. On June 26, 1985, Snow Busters Snow Removal was incorporated in order to expand the operations of Green Rainger Landscaping to include snow plowing & salting services. At that time, Green Rainger Landscaping became a DBA (Doing Business As) of Snow Busters Snow Removal, Inc.
The company's founder, James S. Grainger, initially operated the business out of his home, assisted by the bookkeeping skills of his mother, Ann Grainger. Over the years, as the business grew and following the death of Mrs. Grainger in 1987, it became necessary to add administrative staff and relocate operations to larger facilities. From 1987 to 1990, the business operated out of an office trailer & pole barn behind the owner's residence in Westland, Michigan.
In 1991, further growth necessitated the purchase of the building that currently houses Snow Busters Snow Removal, Inc. & Green Rainger Landscaping, also located in Westland. Since 1982, the company has grown from a 1-lawn maintenance crew & 1-plow truck operation to one using 4 lawn maintenance crews & 25 plow trucks. The company also has evolved in it's organizational structure to include the following employee levels: President, Office Manager, Supervisor, Foreman, Operator, and Seasonal Plow Driver, which has greatly improved the administrative & operational functioning of the company as a whole.
Snow Busters Snow Removal, Inc. & Green Rainger Landscaping was recognized by the Westland Chamber of Commerce in November of 1993 with a Beautification Award for significantly improving the building & grounds currently housing the business. In addition, neighbors on the street adjoining the building personaly recognized and thanked Mr. Grainger for greatly enhancing the value of their property as a result of the numerus improvements made to the property on which the business sits.
Snow Busters Snow Removal, Inc. & Green Rainger Landscaping strongly believes that companies should voluntarily give back to the communities that contribute to their ability to stay in business, for without the community's need for it's services, a company cannot exist. Therefore, Snow Busters Snow Removal, Inc. & Green Rainger Landscaping regularly participates in and/or donates monies to several community service programs.
